The shore excursion that was never on the itinerary

The official story was, ‘I missed the tender back to the ship.’ Sure. Of course. The 47 Instagram Stories from the beach bar tell a slightly different tale, with slightly different timestamps.
Someone in the comments asked, ‘so who had the kids on the ship for six hours,’ and honestly that is the only question left worth asking. The replies run about 90 percent screenshots and 10 percent prayer-hands emoji.
The midnight buffet has an alarmingly loyal following

We really need to talk about whoever invented the 1am cruise buffet tradition, because they have a great deal to answer for. There is a whole Reddit thread of screenshots: people checking in at the 24-hour buffet while their spouses assumed they were fast asleep.
One guy posted ‘getting a snack’ at 12:58am. His wife posted ‘where are you’ at 1:03am from their stateroom. His next post landed at 9am the following morning. No context. No explanation. Just waffles.
The casino photos were a disaster from the first frame

‘Just going to try my luck for a bit’ has ended more vacations than any storm ever did. A cruise ship casino is basically a black hole: you wander in at 10pm and crawl out at 3am with no money and a very complicated explanation.
The photo that went viral was a selfie snapped at a blackjack table. Perfectly innocent, except the person seated beside her was absolutely not her husband, and her husband’s sister was standing six feet away watching it all play out live. The Venmo requests after the trip were a sight to behold.
